I was surprised that the MQ Techie was unaware of this: If you hate the double click to open a Windows XP icon, do this:
click START, click MY COMPUTER, at the top click TOOLS, go to FOLDER OPTIONS, to GENERAL TAB and change it to single-click.
I apologize if everybody already knows this.
