I have a situation that puzzles me and I want to know if anybody else experiences this. I'll be typing along quite nicely, when suddenly it "feels" like the keyboard is in the wrong place. I'll shift it to the right or left, then go on with the typing for a while. Suddenly, it feels like my hands are in the wrong place and I have to shift again. This goes on several times a day. Does this happen to anybody else? If I don't shift, my fingers hit the wrong keys. It's annoying, let me tell you. I'm thinking my kinesthetic sense goes haywire every now and then. Any suggestions?

I can't say I've had that happen while typing, but I feel something similar when driving long distances. It will suddenly feel like I'm twisted at the waist, and, even though I know it's impossible, I have to look down to convince myself of it. Usually the only thing I can find to help that is to stop and walk around a little bit.

I thought it was just me!!! Yes, that happens to me all the time. I have found that if I break 5 minutes every hour, this happens less. I have no cure, though, really. I shift myself, the keyboard, whatever, type until it feels wrong again, and do it again.

Glad to see you back, Wordcraftr. \:\) I have this problem usually with my laptop - I'm having a hard time getting used to a smaller keyboard. Not much choice, though, as it is the only computer I have that can run the new version of Easy Play. How are you doing with it?

Well, at least I'm not crazy! I think taking frequent breaks seems to be the answer. Sitting in one position for a long time maybe creates a body distortion.

Hi, BlankKeys. I plug a keyboard into my laptop because the keyboard is too small and I then find I have too many fingers. LOL.

I do not use the new version of EasyPlay. I'm sticking with the old version and make Godwin go crazy trying to fix the software when it crashes. It's the least I can do.

I do the same thing, Wordcraftr. I find myself pushing my keyboard this way and that with my wrists (on the wrist rest) while I'm typing. What's worse for me is coming back from a break because I feel like I'm not sitting the same and that makes me fidget and become less productive.

LOL. My sister has been doing the same thing. Poor Godwin.

Well, guess I'm not crazy either, though I just thought it was me too. I am constantly having to wiggle my butt around in my chair, move my keyboard one way or the other to try and get in the right position. In doing so it will all feel okay for a few minutes, maybe, then I will have to reposition my butt to the left or right in my chair or move my keyboard one way or the other. It always takes me a few tries after getting up and coming back too. Glad to know it's not just me, lol.

What is EasyPlay? If it's a voice player, please weigh in on its pros, cons, and price. I'm looking for something better than Express Scribe.

The letter H on the standard keyboard (QWERTY) should always be in the middle of your body. A quick check down here and there will keep you on track. Also, the F and the J have little bumps on them. You can stop for a quick second and feel just make sure your pointer fingers feel the bumps. A rubber mat of some sort underneath the keyboard may help.

Sorry, Ebit. Easy Play is a system used by the company that employs both Wordcraftr and me. It has gone through 3 updates since I started and we're in the midst of getting used to the latest one. Not sure, but I think it was developed and is used only by this company.

Wow, Deb, thank you so much for this tip. I just finished my work for today and followed this rule as I worked. It really, and I do mean really, helped.

Hi all. I am not exactly new to the forum, but it has been years since I have been here. I found this thread quite interesting because I have the same issues. If my monitor, keyboard, and chair are not perfectly lined up......if my arms are not bent exactly the same......it drives me nuts. I find myself adjusting all of these throughout the day but mostly the keyboard. I thought it was just my "symmetrical me" taking over. I am the type that if there is a picture on this side of the window there must be a matching one on the other side. Maybe it's because the only balance I can find is OUTSIDE my body LOL!!!
