Deal Made
Seems his political thinking has changed from wanting an uncontested or unanimous nomination to that of being willing to risk a complete takeover by Hillary. Sure, his supporters will spin this in their minds that he wants every delegate to be heard, but, I'm telling you, he has stepped way out on the limb and given Hillary's supporters the saw.

Limbaugh is predicting that she will try to wrestle the nomination away from BO. Sure will be interesting to watch, to say the very least

OMG, TROPS, DON'T DO THAT! I thought your "Clinton To Be On Ballot" meant Clinton as the VP candidate and I almost had a stroke.
It may indeed be a risk on Obama's part, but hopefully it's a calculated risk like in "Know when to hold, know when to fold."

While everyone focuses in on whether or not she is trying for the actual nomination, it might be good to also consider that actual decision by the BO camp to allow her name to go on the ballot.
Will he be this pliable to the various pressures that will be applied when he is in office? Will he make other questionable decisions to further political expediency? Does he want the nomination so bad that he will do anything to get it (and, if so, how does that make him different from the reviled HRC)?
One thing is certain, with her name on the nomination ballot and almost half of the delegates, one false move on his part will make the possibility of her getting the nomination even better.

Perhaps this will solve your dilemma (although I doubt Phyllis will want to click on this link).
Baby Jesus Butt Plug
In any event, the deal seems to be a way to pacific the Clintonistas, bring a sense of unity to the party, and ensure that Bill & Hill will actively and positively campaign for Obama.

Have faith folks, after all they have only blown off the last two presidentail elections...
Seriously the Obama team has made few strategical errors thus far, and I will give the Dems the benefit of the doubt that this will indeed bring more party unity...but it could backfire. I mean how does one go about appeasing those wacky PUMA people? I think half of them are Republican women who cast their vote for Clinton based solely on the fact that she is a woman, but in reality they are Republicans and see a way to stir up the pot, in addition to some of the let's say a little way out there Democratic women who voted for her...Some of those women were plastering big Clinton stickers on their foreheads, arms and everywhere else while attending her rallies...
This election is the Dems to lose with the economy, wars, inflation, unemployment and the like all working in their favor, and I hope this this thing has been well thought out. If the Dems can't win under the prevailing current circumstances in the country, they are never going to win. Hope they don't blow this, but I have faith that this has been well thought out..At least I hope so...I'm starting to get an attack of diverticulitis after reading about this one...)))

Surely there is much going on behind the scenes that the MSM is not privy to, but I cannot help but suspect that perhaps some in the Democratic Party are having a bit of 'buyers' remorse' over BO's candidacy. IOW, they are running here with the wrong one.

Bobbcat,
There could be an element of truth in what you say also. Obama during the primaries ran much futher to the left than Clinton, did, yet the closer this gets the more he has had to drift to a more centrist and in some ways right-leaning position, which makes Clinton more acceptable now to the Democrats with some of the shift in his positions.
Will be interesting to see what happens in Denver. I would like to see the Dems win, but historic-wise I have to say that this is the most exciting election in years, because one really never knows what is going to happen next on either side or what the outcome of this one will be...Not a dull moment regarding this election, which makes it exciting for those that enjoy politics...

IOW, they are running here with the wrong one. You may be right, but I seriously doubt it. I think it's just one more way to try to sway rabid Clinton supporters into Obama's corner. I don't like it, though. I seriously don't trust that woman.

BC, is the cup ever half-full for you? The notion of the Dems having 'buyers' remorse' and turning to Clinton as a result would be a definite case of the cup being 'half full.'

Someone please help me understand this. Maybe I'm mistaken but isn't it up to the democratic party to decide whether to include her name on the nominating ballot? Why does Obama have a say in it? I'm not being sarcastic, I'm curious.

Moabb,
From my limited understanding about this the Clinton supporters had to circulate petitions which in turn reqired 300 delegates to sign the petitions. After those delegates signed it was then up to Clinton to give her signed approval for such or not, and for the last several days rumor has had it that Clinton would not sign the petition,, thus making it a moot issue.
I really don't know what the role in the DNC is regarding this, but it appears that Obama and Clinton held a meeting and decided that she should sign her approval for such, in the attempt of better party unity.
Maybe others have more insight into this than I do...

You know something Trops? You could very well be prescient.

As I said way back up there, it is the fact that he has ceded power to her, for the convention at the very least. It is that caving in, that letting go of the reins, that should bother the most hearty of BO supporters. The criticism that has stuck longest, through the primaries and since, and, presumably on through the rest of the campaign, is that he isn't strong-willed enough to lead.
He seems to be proving that point at the time when he should be firmly in charge.

Again, this display of a lack of leadership leaves me to wonder just how seriously he wants the job.
