Sounds like "flight" or "flood" extension. I can't find anything similar. The patient has just had a split-thickness skin graft to the dorsal aspect of the left hand.

(This doctor is a wonderful dictator, and it kills me to be able to type page after page without a single blank (or even slowing down) and then have a stupid blank like this!)
