Rush Limbaugh Sinks To New Depths
I particularly like Keith Olberman's response in the video.

Is his middle name "Douchebag?" Spoken like a man whose genitalia hasn't changed in size since birth.

I hear that Dr. Laura Schlessinger said that Eliott Spitzer's wife was to blame for his little indiscretion as well. What is this trend of blaming the victim? How about making these guys responsible for their own poor judgement and sick actions? Did someone have a gun to their heads? Too many men - most of them politicians - keep getting their brains caught in their zippers.

From the horse's mouth: RUSH: I don't know that I can put this one on the air. (Snerdley yelling, "Why not?") Well, I mean, at some point you gotta exhibit maturity and restraint, and I do that constantly. But look, let me run you through this and get you to think what I'm thinking without my actually saying it. That might be a pretty big talent if I could do that, make you think what I'm going to say without my having to say it, therefore if anybody gets in trouble for saying it, you say it. We've been told that Elizabeth Edwards is smarter than John Edwards. That's part of the puff pieces on them that we've seen. Ergo, if Elizabeth Edwards is smarter than John Edwards, is it likely that she thinks she knows better than he does what his speeches ought to contain and what kind of things he ought to be doing strategy-wise in the campaign? If she is smarter than he is, could it have been her decision to keep going with the campaign? In other words, could it be that she doesn't shut up? Now, that's as far as I'm going to go. (interruption) Snerdley says he's missing something. If you're missing it, you're going to have to provide it. What are you missing? Hm-hm. Hm-hm. I can't close the loop on it. I'm in a little quicksand already today talking about how the chicks are giving us boring pictures of the female athletes from the Olympics, because I know the diversity crowd is going to be upset, "Do you think the Olympics are just so you guys can ogle?" Yes, because we do not care to watch 'em compete. But, back to Elizabeth and the Breck Girl. I'm sorry, my friends. It just seems to me that Edwards might be attracted to a woman whose mouth did something other than talk. I think you are making a mountain out of a molehill, George, considering the nature of things that you find funny. You just don't like Limbaugh and don't appreciate his brand of humor. Elizabeth Edwards doubtless is too smart for her no-count, philandering husband.

That is merely what you think. Certainly does not make you correct.

LOL--and defending filth like that is certainly an interesting way to define that good ol' right-wing American "value" system. That double standard just doesn't hold up under scrutiny.

Again, you are expressing your opinion. If there was any real truth to what you are saying, Rush Limbaugh would not be enjoying the immense popularity that he does. Why not just admit that you cannot wrap your mind around a phenomenon like Limbaugh and be done with it?

Let me see...
bobbcat is all against John, but all for the man that puts the blame on Elizabeth.
No wonder the right-wingnuts are so out of touch with the rest of America.

Well, first. I'm surprised George had anything to say in defense of any woman anywhere under any circumstances whatsoever. Unless, of course, it suits his purpose. Oh surprise!
Second, if all Rush said was "Elizabeth Edwards is too smart for her dumbf*ck husband," we wouldn't be having this debate, because that's probably true. On the other hand, that's how "society" runs their relationships so I'm having an issue as to why this is in any way surprising to anybody.
Third, Bobbcat, if you can't see that Rush just demonstrated an appalling misogyny to rival George's, then well, I'm wondering about your filter. Mind, I'm saying that as someone who actually is a Rush fan, gets his humor, and actually does see the irony/sarcasm in the subtext. However, being a fan doesn't preclude me going, "Well, that was a douchebag thing to say."
I'm not about defending women at all costs and I'm not about saying it's all the woman's fault. But come on, Edwards couldn't keep his zipper zipped and this is his wife's fault...why? I don't see any reports where she was procuring for him.
And as for George's issues, it appears it's as difficult to be a feminist in liberal circles (oh, because my politics aren't "right" enough to be a feminist) as it is to be one in conservative ones, thanks so much, Bobbcat (because I actually identify with women not being used as the reason and purpose behind their husbands' inability to control their baser instincts). What, is this 1955?
Can I have my Mormon Libertarian Feminist card punched? Anywhere? Anywhere?

No wonder the right-wingnuts are so out of touch with the rest of America. LOL! Do you get headaches from such twisted thinking? I merely thought Rush's little bit was funny. I do think Edwards is a scumbag; I have plenty of company on that score as well. According to your logic, that makes me a 'right wingnut.' Typical libbie pattern of resorting to namecalling because this is one argument (among many) your camp cannot win.
Jeez, Mojo, relax. I merely thought it was funny; yes, it was tacky as well. Hope that makes you feel better.

It's the fact that you find it funny that makes you a right-wingnut.

Aw, come on. What is that supposed to mean?

You and Craig. Not to sound like a broken record, but this is what you think, and it is not reasonable, IMHO. It's just another effort to be insulting, and it reflects badly on you.

Aw, come on. What is that supposed to mean? You obviously haven't been around to notice George has "issues." Kind of a love-him-or-hate-him guy, and I don't think he cares which, just so you acknowledge he's waggling his peepee at you.
It's the fact that you find it funny that makes you a right-wingnut.

You know, it is not worth keeping up with this personal crap with you and some of the others in here. It is becoming pretty obvious that you are just here to and try to get a rise out of people. Most unimpressive. Whatever happened to simply debating the issues? That is what this forum is for. I gather you don't care about that though, as your behavior shows.
