After hearing so many great things about Webmedx on this board, I'm looking at applying for an MT position with them but wouldn't be available until September. In general, how long does the hiring process take? Just trying to get a general idea as to when I should apply. Also, do they allow part-time employees a window of flexibility to get their hours in or it is a set schedule for part-timers?

Thanks!
MTTG

MTTG, last I heard Webmedx was not hiring part-timers, but that may change at any time, you can always check. I couldn't tell you about a part-time schedule otherwise. As for as the length of time it takes to hear back from them, you should hear something quickly one way or the other. Depending on how much more you hear depends on your testing, etc. Its not a long, drawn out process with Webmedx, though.

Hi rain,

Could you give me some information on benefits at Webmedx? Vacation amounts, sick time, holidays, etc. Do you have insurance through them? I wondered what company they use and the approximate rates for employee/child(ren).

Thanks!

(I tried to PM you but couldn't get the "Add" button working again.)

idnar, digging up a thread from more than a year ago is not likely to get you the information you seek.

You should start a new thread in this forum and ask anyone if they have the scoop.

I would like to know about the speech recognition for Webmedx. Does anyone have information on that? Thanks.

Jaeda, Did you get information about ASR (automated speech recognition) at Webmedx. Some of the accounts use it and some do not, but the pay rate is good and progressive ... so many lines per week at one rate, the next level is more, etc. MTs seem quite happy with it. To my understanding, many clients are waiting for their transition, but all clients will not use it. Webmedx has a graded pay scale depending on MT level of experience and ability and client level of difficulty. ASR training module is available for newly hired MTs. I worked for the company as an MT for 1+ years then switched to QA as a reviewer and now am a trainer (mentor) for newly hired MTs. This is the best company I've found in 20 years as far as support, pay, and benefits. With the right experience and education, there are always opportunities for advancement. Several people to whom I've recommended the company tested and were hired and continue happily working today. Webmedx has tough but fair standards for quality of excellence.

Hi rain,

I'm new here - have been reading all night about different companies, including WMX. I have an interview with WMX in the morning and would also like the same info that Sandi asked for - - also, what about paid training? I was making very good money working as an IC at our local hospital until they went to voice rec and don't need ICs anymore and aren't hiring anymore employees - - if anyone else has ideas on the companies that pay good money I'd be interested in hearing it.

Hi mwalker,

In my opinion, WMX is absolutely the best National out there, and treat each and every MT with respect. I rarely run out of work, the pay and benefits are top notch, including very reasonably priced BCBC health plans, dental, vision, 401k, short and long term disability, life insurance, along with PTO and 6 paid holidays a year.

Training is paid and a fun experience \:\)

Just yesterday I also took the test. Does it usually take a couple of days to get back to me? Also, are there set schedules or do they allow flexibility? As Windancer mentioned above, do all new hires have to do speech? I was just wondering because that is what I am trying to get away from, but would take the job just as well if I had the opportunity. Thanks!!

MTChris, WMX does allow flexibility, some supervisors more than others. You have a 12 hour window to get your 7-8 hours a day/1200 lines a day in, and they don't expect you to sit down and stay put 8 straight hours, unless that is what you prefer. As far as ASR goes, it would depend on the account you are on. More and more are moving to ASR, but at this point, there are plenty of accounts without ASR too.
