I'm sorry for the loss of your friend and am praying for her husband and children as they deal with this. It hurts to the core to see someone suffer and even more so to get your hopes up, thinking they might get better and just may make it. My father suffered for 2 months before died; he'd had leukemia 13 years earlier and had a relapse plus other complications. My mother has had breast cancer, and a brother has had lymphoma. That makes fully 50% of my immediate family who has had cancer! So I know what you mean when you say you fear it'll be your turn one day. Regardless of whether it is my turn one day, I have peace knowing God is with me no matter what.
