Evidently this needs to be reposted and brought to the top - again.

One would think that common sense would tell people that posting questions from a test for a job or a school test is not the thing to do - but alas - some still do it anyway.

This has been an ongoing discussion as far back as I can remember being online. There are those that see nothing wrong with it. Frankly - I'm not one of them.

1. The purpose of a test is to see what YOU know - not what other MTs online know.

2. Don't think that the company or school you're taking tests for is not aware of these forums. They are. Don't think they don't check to see if people are looking for outside help. They do. Don't think they're pleased about it. They're not.

3. How is it fair if MT1 posts questions and gets the answers and either (a)passes the test, or (b) gets the job because of it, when MT2 has not posted and either (a)fails the test, or (b) does not get the job?

4. Using online forums does not prove your resourcefulness - it only proves you know how to "cheat." That little "game" is only going to come back and bite you in the end. Why? Because you cannot rely on the people who help out here to ALWAYS be here for you.

There's no way to absolutely stop people from posting test questions. We would prefer that you not do it. If you insist on doing it - at the very least - say you're taking a test and these are the questions from the test. There are an awful lot of people out there who feel as strongly as I do about this subject and may not want to help someone taking a test - at least give them the option - and don't take advantage of their kindness.

As far as homework/school questions go - that's what you have instructors for. That's what you have text books for. That's what you have your own school forum for. Posting homework questions here is relying on (again) the volunteers here to help you complete your school work. If you are needing help learning how/where to search - ask your instructors. If you are needing help learning how/which books to use - ask your instructors. If you don't have access to that, well....that's a whole nother story!!
