The doctor is placing the patient on "magnesium oxide (B-Lith 600/225 mg magnesium oxide/vitamin B6 " and I cannot document Blith (B-Lith). I do think this is probably vitamin B and lithium but can't find it for certain and how to write it. Anyone familiar with this? He actually wants her on magnesium citrate pill but can only find the liquid so is having to give her two forms. She has a diagnosis of urolithiasis, hypomagnesuria and hypocitruria.

THANKS!

Do not assume "lith" stands for lithium, which is a medication for manic depressive disorder and not given as a vitamin.

Spell out the "B" (like the insect) and attach to lith (no hyphen), which in this case has nothing to do with lithium. Then Google or look up in your drug book.

AnnR,
YEP! It's true what they say about "assume." I was too focused in the wrong direction.

That one is added to my glossary with much appreciation to you.

I suppose they used "lith" for the magnesium oxide because in its unmodified state it's kind of rock-like (who knows why drug mfrs make up the names they do) It's unfortunate that it resembles lithium.

Perhaps the thinking is if the name sounds complex enough the cost will seem more reasonable??

Anyhow, thanks again.
